Poznań University of Technology is one of the largest and most recognizable technical universities in Poland, with over 100 years of tradition in educating engineers and conducting scientific research. Its history dates back to 1919, and today the university has over 15,000 students enrolled in 9 faculties covering key areas of modern engineering, technology, and science. The academic staff consists of several thousand employees, including hundreds of experienced scientists and experts carrying out research projects in cooperation with industry and foreign partners. Poznań University of Technology has modern laboratory and research infrastructure, carries out dozens of international projects, and actively participates in mobility programs such as Erasmus+. Thanks to this, the university effectively combines a solid academic foundation with practical preparation of graduates for work in the dynamically changing world of technology and innovation.
Solaris is a leading European manufacturer of urban and suburban buses, focusing its operations on the development of low- and zero-emission vehicles. The company has been operating since 1996. All Solaris buses, from concept, through the design phase to production are manufactured in Poland, across several of the company’s plants. Solaris and its affiliated companies employ nearly 4,000 people. Solaris is part of the Spanish CAF Group (Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles S.A.). More than 28,000 Solaris vehicles delivered to date operate in 33 countries and 850 cities across Europe and beyond.
Description
The “Transport of the Future” section within CETEF 2026 is one of the most important forums for debate on the future of European mobility. Two expert panels will bring together leading representatives of the automotive and aviation industries, transport operators, energy and fuel suppliers, strategic infrastructure investors, and military representatives creating a unique space for open, critical, and multidimensional discussion.
At the heart of the debate will be the key challenges of our time: the feasibility of European climate targets for transport, the future of zero-emission technologies electric, hydrogen, and synthetic fuel-based and the fundamental question of the continent’s energy sovereignty and supply chain security. A dedicated panel on aviation will address the decarbonisation of airspace in both civilian and military contexts, illustrating the tensions between operational readiness and Europe’s climate ambitions.
CETEF 2026 is the place where science, business, industry, and policy come together to jointly address the question that concerns us all: how to build a secure, sovereign, and zero-emission Europe of tomorrow.
